This condition is mainly caused by prolonged forward head posture, such as looking down at mobile phones, computers, books, or newspapers. Additionally, desks are often too low and chairs slightly too high, causing the entire body to lean forward. This leads to excessive tension and strain on the back muscles, resulting in significant pain. If there is local soft tissue infection with redness, warmth, and swelling, and if touching or pressing exacerbates the pain, a localized soft tissue infection or folliculitis should be considered. If there is no visible abnormality in the affected area but tenderness upon pressure—especially when pain initially worsens and then gradually decreases with increased activity—back fasciitis can be diagnosed.
