What exercises are suitable for people with cervical and lumbar spine problems?
Disease description:
Neck pain and accompanying discomfort in the lower back after prolonged sitting. Besides avoiding long periods of sitting, what exercises are recommended for poor cervical and lumbar spine health?
Swimming and planking. Patients with cervical or lumbar spine problems can choose low-impact functional exercises such as swimming and side bridges performed in a lying position, which place relatively less stress on the spine. Heat therapy can also be applied to areas such as the neck and lower back. The method involves using a warm towel or hot water bag at around 55°C, applied directly to the lower back for continuous heat treatment lasting 15 minutes. Afterwards, stretching of muscles in the back of the neck and lower back can be performed.
