What should be done for premature beats in coronary heart disease?
Disease description:
Went to the hospital for a checkup and was diagnosed with coronary heart disease, along with occasional premature beats. What should be done about premature beats caused by coronary heart disease?
Premature beats associated with coronary heart disease can be treated with antiarrhythmic drugs, and usually improve. However, if there is no improvement, the patient should seek medical evaluation and treatment at a hospital to prevent further deterioration of the condition. If premature beats are caused by severe ischemia of the coronary arteries, they often occur following symptoms such as chest tightness or chest pain. In such cases, the main focus of treatment should be improving blood flow in the coronary arteries; as coronary blood supply improves, the premature beats will decrease or disappear.
