What to do about moderate pericardial effusion
Disease description:
I had heard of pericardial effusion before, but never expected to develop a moderate amount myself. What should I do about moderate pericardial effusion?
Moderate pericardial effusion can be treated with medication and pericentesis. If the condition is severe and medication proves ineffective, a pericardiocentesis procedure is required. If follow-up examinations within 2 to 3 days show increasing fluid accumulation, pericardiocentesis with drainage should be performed; this helps gradually relieve the patient's symptoms. Additionally, while treating the underlying disease, regular check-ups are necessary, and treatment plans should be adjusted based on the evaluation results.
