The benefits of sauna therapy for synovitis
Disease description:
I've been experiencing muscle soreness these past couple of days, especially joint pain, sometimes so severe that I'm afraid to move. Someone suggested it might be synovitis, so I'd like to know—what are the benefits of sweat therapy (han zhen) for synovitis?
Sauna therapy is beneficial for arthritis. Arthritis is generally considered a degenerative joint condition caused by physical strain. Most cases involve pain associated with cartilage degeneration and exposure of the subchondral bone. In such cases, the most important approach is to improve the patient's lifestyle, primarily through rest, combined with the application of heat therapy to determine whether related symptoms are relieved. If necessary, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and cartilage-nourishing medications may be administered to observe symptom improvement. When needed, local trigger point injection therapy should be more seriously considered. Patients are advised to get adequate rest, keep their bodies warm, and avoid getting chilled.
