How to effectively treat synovitis
Knee discomfort; hospital examination revealed patellar tendinitis. How should it be treated?

synovitis is primarily characterized by inflammation of the synovial membrane in the joints. The synovial membrane is a thin, smooth layer of tissue that lines the inside of joints. It secretes lubricating fluid, reduces friction between bones, and helps maintain joint health. When the synovium is affected by infection, injury, or chronic disease, an inflammatory response occurs, leading to swelling, pain, and dysfunction of the synovial membrane, which is known as synovitis.
Common treatment methods:
1. Conservative treatment: Suitable for patients with mild synovitis. This includes rest, avoiding weight-bearing activities and strenuous exercise to reduce further joint damage. At the same time, oral anti-inflammatory and pain-relief medications such as meloxicam tablets and celecoxib capsules, as well as traditional Chinese medicines like Huamoyan tablets, can be used. Physical therapies, such as microwave therapy or far infrared therapy, are also effective methods for eliminating local inflammation and relieving pain and swelling.
2. Intra-articular injection therapy: For patients with significant joint effusion, joint aspiration can be performed to remove excess fluid, followed by injection of medications such as sodium hyaluronate to reduce inflammation and promote recovery of joint function.
3. Surgical treatment: In cases of severe synovitis where conservative treatment is ineffective, surgical intervention may be considered, such as arthroscopic surgery, to remove inflamed tissue within the joint and repair damaged structures.
