How to treat lumbar spine and cervical spine disorders
Disease description:
Due to my job, I often work in front of a computer, which sometimes causes my neck to feel stiff and painful. After a brief medical checkup at the hospital, the report indicated that I have cervical spondylosis. How is cervical spondylosis treated?
Since the cervical and lumbar spine are both parts of the vertebral column, treatment methods are often similar. The first approach is to avoid unhealthy lifestyle and work habits, including prolonged desk work, looking down at mobile phones, bending over while commuting, driving long-haul buses, and carrying heavy loads with a bent posture—all of which can lead to spinal degeneration, such as cervical bone spurs and lumbar disc degeneration. Secondly, one should sleep on a firm mattress rather than a very soft one. When sleeping at night, a pillow should be placed under the neck, not a high pillow. Additionally, certain medications may be used for symptomatic treatment.
