Is cervical traction suitable for cervical spondylosis?
Disease description:
After being diagnosed with cervical spine disease, I've been quite concerned about its potential impact on my health. Although there are many treatment options available, I'm still unsure which one to choose. Is traction suitable for cervical spine disease?
Some types of cervical spondylosis are very suitable for cervical traction therapy, while others are not. Cervical spondylosis is classified into four types, each requiring different treatment approaches, and not all types are appropriate for cervical traction. The four types are myelopathic cervical spondylosis, radicular cervical spondylosis, sympathetic cervical spondylosis, and vertebral artery cervical spondylosis. Among these, myelopathic cervical spondylosis is unsuitable for cervical traction therapy, as traction may even worsen the condition. In contrast, cervical traction tends to be more effective for sympathetic, radicular, and vertebral artery types, particularly for radicular cervical spondylosis.
