The treatment approach for adenomyosis should be determined based on the individual patient's specific condition. For women of childbearing age with mild symptoms who wish to conceive, symptomatic pain relief may be provided initially, followed by attempts to become pregnant. For those without immediate plans for pregnancy but suffering from severe dysmenorrhea and heavy menstrual bleeding, treatment with a levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine device (Mirena) may be considered.
