Adenomyosis refers to the growth of endometrial tissue into the uterine muscle layer and is usually not very serious. This condition is associated with female estrogen secretion and uterine injury, such as endocrine disorders, traumatic gynecological surgeries, or reproductive tract obstructions, which may trigger the disease. It commonly occurs in parous women aged 30 to 50, and many patients also have coexisting uterine fibroids. The main symptoms include dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation) and menstrual cycle irregularities. Surgical treatment is generally required; however, for patients with special circumstances or those unable to tolerate surgery, conservative drug therapy is recommended.
