Because this type of diet removes most carbohydrates, blood sugar levels drop, making muscle pain more likely. Consuming high-fat and high-protein foods—required by this diet—can lead to obesity, cause fatigue during physical activity, and thereby trigger muscle pain. Blindly following a ketogenic diet is very dangerous; a nutritional assessment should be conducted before starting such a diet.
