Is fungal infection hereditary?

Disease description:

I previously had a fungal infection that caused vulvovaginal candidiasis. After treatment, my symptoms have improved and are under control. Now I'm pregnant and particularly worried that this condition might be passed on to my child. Can fungal infections be inherited?

Fungal infection refers to vulvovaginal candidiasis, a condition that is not hereditary. Vulvovaginal candidiasis is primarily caused by infection with Candida species and is associated with factors such as poor hygiene, disordered sexual activity, long-term use of antibiotics or hormonal medications, or having diabetes. It is not genetically inherited. Therefore, this disease does not exhibit hereditary transmission.
