Patients with cerebral hemorrhage are generally not advised to take Panax notoginseng powder (Sanqi powder). This herbal powder is commonly used for bleeding resulting from external injuries and has certain blood-activating and stasis-dissolving effects. However, cerebral hemorrhage is usually caused by the rupture of small arteries due to long-term hypertension. Using a blood-activating agent in such cases may increase bleeding and worsen the condition. Therefore, patients with cerebral hemorrhage should generally avoid taking Sanqi powder.
