Oral candidiasis refers to a fungal infection caused by Candida albicans that may occur in individuals with AIDS, but this condition alone cannot be used to diagnose AIDS. Oral candidiasis can also appear in people with other immune system disorders, such as Behçet's disease. To determine whether someone has AIDS, a professional medical evaluation and testing at a hospital are required.
