Molluscum contagiosum, also known as water warts, should be treated under sterile conditions by using a sterile needle or sterile forceps to puncture or remove the lesion. After removal, apply 2.5% iodine tincture locally and apply pressure to stop bleeding. It is recommended to disinfect the area regularly; the lesion typically falls off within about 7 days. Avoid scratching the affected area with hands to prevent repeated infections, and maintain cleanliness and proper disinfection of the surrounding environment.
