Characteristics of the symptoms of genital herpes
Disease description:
I've developed many small blisters around my anus in the past two days, and I suspect it might be viral herpes. What are the characteristic symptoms of genital herpes?
The symptoms of genital herpes are generally characterized by three types. The first is primary genital herpes, which refers to initial infection with the herpes simplex virus. Typically within 3 to 5 days after infection, clusters of small blisters appear on the external genital area. As the condition progresses, these blisters rupture, leading to ulceration and erosion. The second type is recurrent genital herpes, which often occurs due to factors such as improper diet—including long-term alcohol consumption or eating spicy foods—that weaken the immune system and trigger recurrence, manifesting as localized clusters of blisters. The third type is asymptomatic (subclinical) genital herpes, in which symptoms may be atypical and include minor local fissures, erosions, or ulcers.
