How to treat alveolar bone hyperplasia
Disease description:
I've had such severe tooth pain over the past few days that I couldn't eat. After a medical examination, the doctor told me I have alveolar bone hyperostosis. How is alveolar bone hyperostosis treated?
If the alveolar bone hyperplasia is physiological, treatment is generally not required. If it is caused by periapical inflammation, root canal therapy can be performed under a doctor's guidance. After treatment, oral medications such as metronidazole tablets and ibuprofen sustained-release capsules may be taken to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. If it is caused by a jaw cyst, decompression via windowing surgery may be chosen according to medical advice, followed by oral administration of medications such as azithromycin tablets and amoxicillin capsules for further treatment.
