Dr. Zhao Xinju
Symptoms of tubulointerstitial nephritis include polyuria, polydipsia, dehydration, and hypotonic urine. Other possible manifestations are hypokalemia, hyponatremia, hypocalcemia, hypomagnesemia, glucosuria, and microalbuminuria. In tubulointerstitial nephritis, the renal tubules are affected, leading to impairment of one or more tubular functions and resulting in a series of tubular disorders, such as impaired renal concentrating ability and defective tubular reabsorption. Prompt medical attention is recommended if tubulointerstitial nephritis is suspected.
