How is bilateral hydronephrosis treated?
Disease description:
My uncle has developed hydronephrosis in both kidneys and would like to know how bilateral hydronephrosis can be treated.
The treatment for bilateral hydronephrosis varies depending on the underlying cause. If it is caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia, medication or surgical intervention is required. If hydronephrosis results from kidney stones, lithotripsy or surgery is necessary. For cases caused by prostate tumors, surgical treatment is needed. If the condition is due to a stricture at the ureteropelvic junction, surgical correction is also required.
