Itching and pain in the vulva may result from drug allergies or chemical irritation, most commonly caused by direct irritation from soaps or condoms, or allergic reactions to sanitary pads or underwear materials, leading to allergic dermatitis and causing vulvar itching accompanied by pain. It could also be due to frequently wearing synthetic fiber underwear with poor breathability, resulting in accumulation of dampness and heat. If undergarments are contaminated by fungi or contain added fluorescent agents, cotton fibers, or other materials, local skin may develop chronic inflammation, leading to vulvar itching.
