Does a cyst in the pelvis require removal of the uterus and ovaries?
Disease description:
Recently during a health checkup, I found out I have a cyst in my pelvic area, and I'm really scared. I'd like to ask: if there's a cyst in the pelvis, do I need to have my uterus and ovaries removed?
A simple pelvic cyst usually does not require removal of the uterus and ovaries.
Hysterectomy is only necessary when the cyst is particularly large, occupies the space of the uterus, and poses risks such as rupture, hemorrhage, or even ischemic shock. However, in most patients, pelvic cysts are not severe and can resolve on their own. During this period, it is essential to maintain healthy lifestyle habits, such as regular sleep patterns, moderate exercise, and a balanced diet.
