How to manage acute cystitis
Disease description:
Recently, I've been experiencing frequent urination and urgency, sometimes feeling the need to urinate every few minutes. After examination, I was diagnosed with acute cystitis. How should acute cystitis be managed?
Acute cystitis can usually be treated with antibiotics. Patients should first ensure adequate rest and drink plenty of water to increase urine output, maintain proper nutrition, avoid irritating foods, and take warm baths to help relieve symptoms. For patients with significant bladder irritation symptoms, antispasmodic medications may be given for symptom relief. The mainstay of treatment is antibiotic therapy, with the choice of antibiotic guided by urine culture and drug sensitivity test results. Clinically, fosfomycin trometamol, ampicillin, and others are currently recommended.
