Cold uterus (Gong Han) refers to a deficiency-cold condition caused by the loss of warming effect from yang energy in the uterus, or a pathological condition resulting from obstruction of the uterus by cold-damp pathogens. Symptoms include general coldness, cold hands and feet, lower back soreness, decreased libido, loose stools, pale tongue with a darkish hue, white coating on the tongue, and a deep, slippery pulse. Some women may experience light menstrual flow with dark-colored blood, amenorrhea, delayed menstruation, or even diarrhea during their periods.
