The difference between gallbladder adenomyosis and cholecystitis
Disease description:
I've recently been experiencing stomach pain and general malaise. After a medical checkup, I was diagnosed with gallbladder adenomyosis. Today, while browsing the internet, I came across another condition called cholecystitis. Could you please explain the difference between gallbladder adenomyosis and cholecystitis?
The differences between gallbladder adenomyosis and cholecystitis are as follows:
1. Gallbladder adenomyosis is a pathological type of gallbladder polyp and belongs to non-neoplastic gallbladder polyps; cholecystitis is an inflammatory lesion of the gallbladder caused by factors such as obstruction of the cystic duct or gallstones.
2. Gallbladder adenomyosis generally presents symptoms such as abdominal distension, belching, indigestion, or pain; cholecystitis typically causes patients to experience severe right upper abdominal pain or colicky pain.
