What to do for a child's cough and fever
Disease description:
During the day, the child keeps coughing. At night, before sleeping, he feels warm to the touch, and a temperature check confirms fever. What should be done?
If a child's cough and fever are caused by bacterial infection, antibacterial medications may be used under medical guidance to relieve symptoms. Commonly used drugs include cefradine and cefaclor. If the cause is viral infection, antiviral medications such as ribavirin or acyclovir can be used to alleviate symptoms. If body temperature exceeds 38.5°C, antipyretic medications such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen may be added.
