What causes left chest pain during deep breathing?
Disease description:
I previously experienced mild pain in the left chest. Recently, I've noticed that deep breathing also triggers pain in the left chest. What could be causing this?
Left chest pain during deep breathing may be caused by sudden pneumothorax or diseases such as pleurisy and pneumonia. When cardiovascular diseases are present—such as coronary heart disease, acute angina attack, or acute myocardial infarction—left chest pain during deep breathing can also occur. Additionally, pulmonary embolism or lung cancer may be accompanied by left chest pain during deep breathing, along with symptoms such as low-grade fever, weight loss, and cough.
