How to relieve constipation in infants and young children
Disease description:
Baby hasn't been pooping recently—even after eating a lot, there's still no bowel movement. I'm really worried about illness. How can I relieve constipation in infants and young children?
When a baby is constipated, you can appropriately adjust their diet by giving them more water and adding foods that help bowel movements, such as vegetable puree and fruit puree. Additionally, gently massaging the baby's abdomen can also promote defecation. Infant constipation is mainly caused by indigestion or insufficient water intake. Increasing fluid intake or giving the baby some Xiao'er Qixing Cha (a traditional herbal tea for children) may help. Babies aged 3–4 months should develop regular bowel habits, ideally after breakfast each morning. If a baby frequently becomes constipated during feeding, poor digestive function should be considered; avoid overfeeding the baby.
