Causes of sacroiliitis
Disease description:
My uncle has been troubled by arthritis for several years. How should it be treated, and what causes sacroiliac joint arthritis?
The occurrence of sacroiliitis is mainly related to factors such as age, genetics, and physical constitution. The most common causes also include infection, ankylosing spondylitis, acetabular dysplasia, and long-term use of glucocorticoids, all of which can lead to the development of sacroiliitis. Patients who are bedridden for prolonged periods primarily suffer from generalized sacroiliitis, although sacroiliitis may also occur in cases of limb immobilization with plaster casts or disuse due to neurological hypersensitivity.
