Is bone hyperplasia a serious illness?
Disease description:
I was actually diagnosed with bone spurs, even though I've always been careful about exercising. Could you please tell me if bone spurs are a serious condition?
Bone spurs are not a serious condition. They are a normal physiological phenomenon. Imaging diagnoses often show them as vertebral degeneration or osteophyte formation. Treatment is required only when bone spurs stimulate or compress surrounding blood vessels, nerves, and tissues, causing clinical symptoms. Patients can take calcium supplements with higher levels of vitamin D, which help with both osteoporosis and the prevention of bone spurs.
