Precursors of bone cancer
Disease description:
I have a lump on my right leg that's been there for several months. It hurts when I walk, and I can't fully straighten the joint. Could it be bone cancer? What are the warning signs of bone cancer?
There are generally four early signs of bone cancer:
1. Localized lump. Swelling and pain in the affected area lead to the formation of a mass. Initially, the lump is small, but as cancer cells spread, it grows larger, turns red, and the local skin temperature increases.
2. Limited mobility. In the early stages, there may be an unusual sensation in the affected joint during movement; later, joint movement becomes significantly restricted, and in severe cases, the joint may become bent and unable to straighten.
3. Fractures. When the tumor invades the bone, it weakens bone strength, making the affected area prone to fractures under external force.
4. Swelling in the lower limbs. When the tumor affects surrounding blood vessels and nerves, it can cause venous blockage in the lower limbs, leading to swelling.
