What are multiple liver cysts?
Disease description:
Yesterday during my company's routine health checkup, multiple cysts were found in my liver. I would like to know what this means.
Multiple liver cysts are usually caused by congenital factors, such as congenital cysts. They typically form during embryonic development due to abnormalities in the development of intrahepatic bile ducts or lymphatic vessels. If the cysts are small and have not undergone pathological changes or caused other discomfort symptoms, special treatment is generally not required; regular follow-up examinations at the hospital are sufficient. However, if the cysts become too large, there may be a risk of malignant transformation.
