What does it mean to have multiple gallbladder polyps?
Disease description:
I had a B-ultrasound examination and was found to have multiple gallbladder polyps. I don't know much about this condition. What does it mean to have multiple gallbladder polyps?
Multiple gallbladder polyps are considered to be associated with the following factors:
1. Abnormal cholesterol metabolism: Dysregulation of cholesterol metabolism in the body may lead to multiple cholesterol polyps in the gallbladder.
2. Chronic inflammation: Conditions such as gallstones can cause the stones to rub against the gallbladder wall, triggering a chronic inflammatory response. This may stimulate hyperplasia of the gallbladder mucosa, leading to the formation of inflammatory gallbladder polyps.
