What should I do if I have fever with ascites due to liver disease?
Disease description:
My husband has had a fever for the past few days. He took fever-reducing medication at home, but his condition hasn't improved, so I brought him to the hospital for a checkup. The doctor diagnosed him with hepatic ascites. What should we do?
For fever associated with hepatic ascites, if body temperature is below 38.5℃, fever-reducing patches can be used to lower the temperature. If the temperature exceeds 38.5℃, antipyretic medications may be used under a doctor's guidance; commonly used drugs include acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Antibiotics such as amoxicillin or azithromycin can also be administered concurrently to control infection.
