What should I do if my eyes itch after having epicanthoplasty?
Disease description:
Last week I had an eye corner surgery at a hospital run by a relative. Now my eyes feel itchy and the skin is red. What should I do?
After eye corner surgery, skin irritation at the corner of the eye may cause itching. Local cold compresses can help by reducing tissue temperature and decreasing nerve fiber sensitivity, thereby alleviating itchiness. If the allergic reaction is severe, antiallergic eye drops may be used, such as olopatadine hydrochloride eye drops or azelastine hydrochloride eye drops. These can also be combined with steroid eye drops like fluorometholone eye drops or medrysone acetate eye drops.
