What causes the sensation of a foreign body in the throat without affecting swallowing?
Disease description:
Since this morning, I've been feeling like there's a foreign body in my throat, but swallowing is not affected. What could cause the sensation of something stuck in the throat without difficulty swallowing?
A sensation of a foreign body in the throat without difficulty swallowing may result from eating too quickly or hastily, or from fish bones or bone fragments becoming lodged in the throat. It could also be caused by throat discomfort following treatment, or by gastroesophageal reflux damaging the pharynx, leading to local mucosal congestion and swelling. Additionally, individuals with chronic pharyngitis, tonsillitis, or similar conditions may experience a persistent sensation of a foreign body in the throat despite normal swallowing.
