Because I've developed a few wisdom teeth, one of them became inflamed these past few days, causing my face to swell. I look especially unattractive now and want to know how I can reduce the swelling.

When inflammation of a wisdom tooth causes facial swelling, antibiotics may be taken under a doctor's guidance to control the infection. Commonly used medications include cefradine and cefuroxime. If the patient's symptoms are severe, with abscess formation in the affected area and presenting symptoms such as throbbing pain or pitting edema, incision and drainage are usually required to remove the pus and thereby achieve reduction of the swelling.
