Insomnia, vivid dreams, and night sweats may be caused by physiological factors, such as in women going through menopause or older middle-aged and elderly individuals, whose autonomic nervous system is prone to dysfunction, thus leading to the above symptoms. These symptoms may also occur in tuberculosis, which is usually caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis and may be accompanied by symptoms such as phlegm, cough, and low-grade fever. Additionally, hyperthyroidism can also cause these symptoms.
