Before in vitro fertilization (IVF) transfer, gua sha may generally be used to help unblock the body's meridians and is unlikely to cause any abnormal effects on the IVF procedure. However, patients should rest well the day before the embryo transfer, avoid strenuous exercise and lifting heavy objects, and maintain a balanced and nutritious diet to support successful implantation.
