Where has the stone reached? Pain in the groin area.
Disease description:
At first, my kidney stone didn't cause any pain, but later I started experiencing groin pain. I would like to know at which location of the stone passage does groin pain occur?
Stones reaching the level of the iliac vessels can cause groin pain. Generally, stones do not cause groin pain. Kidney stones are typically caused by dietary factors, drinking water, and environmental influences leading to stone formation in the body. During treatments such as extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy or increased fluid intake to promote stone passage, groin pain may occur when the stone passes beyond the second physiological narrowing—this could be at the level of the iliac vessels or at the ureterovesical junction. Therefore, it is advisable to drink plenty of water regularly.
