What are the emergency measures for penicillin allergy?
Disease description:
I'm allergic to penicillin and am quite concerned. I'd like to know: what are the emergency measures for penicillin allergy?
In cases of penicillin allergy, emergency measures such as medication and intravenous injection should be taken. Penicillin administration must be stopped immediately, the original infusion tube discarded, and replaced with a new one. Intravenous infusion with 0.9% normal saline should then be started. Patients may take glucocorticoids such as dexamethasone or methylprednisolone orally. For patients experiencing an allergic reaction to penicillin, management of shock is necessary, including adequate fluid resuscitation to maintain normal blood circulation. Only by implementing these measures can the patient's life possibly be saved.
