Regretting a tonsillectomy still requires active postoperative care. Since the removal is irreversible, it's important to note that in adults, the primary immune organ is the thymus; therefore, tonsillectomy does not lead to reduced immunity. Generally, if the body experiences internal heat ("fire"), the tonsils may develop inflammation or pus. Particularly in individuals with chronic inflammation, the tonsils may remain red, swollen, and in a suppurative state for prolonged periods.
