Fever, also known as pyrexia, may be caused by tonsillitis. When the tonsils are attacked by bacteria or viruses, the body's immune system activates defense mechanisms, releasing inflammatory factors to combat the pathogens. While these inflammatory factors perform their functions, they can also stimulate the body, affecting the hypothalamus and causing disturbances in the body's temperature regulation center, thus leading to fever. The severity of the fever may vary according to the degree of inflammation; mild inflammation may only cause a low-grade fever, while severe inflammation may result in high fever with body temperature reaching 39–40°C, accompanied by symptoms such as chills, shivering, drowsiness, and loss of appetite.

If symptoms such as fever, sore throat, and swollen tonsils occur, medical attention should be sought promptly so that a doctor can formulate an appropriate treatment plan based on the condition. As advised by a physician, medications such as Compound Lonicerae Granules, Amoxicillin Capsules, and Roxithromycin Tablets may be used to treat the infection and eliminate inflammation. Additionally, if the fever exceeds 38.5°C, antipyretic medications such as Ibuprofen Sustained-Release Capsules may be taken as directed to alleviate discomfort caused by the fever.
