After developing vocal cord nodules, patients generally experience systemic symptoms. Their voice gradually becomes thicker and lower in pitch, with increasing hoarseness that may progress to complete loss of voice. They may also suffer from throat pain and general malaise. Some patients might experience additional symptoms such as fever and chills. Persistent discomfort or abnormalities originating from the throat require timely treatment.
