MRI findings of hepatic hemangioma
Disease description:
I've been experiencing upper abdominal pain recently. My doctor suspects it might be caused by a liver hemangioma and has recommended an MRI. What are the MRI findings for liver hemangiomas?
MRI findings of hepatic hemangiomas may show round or oval lesions with well-defined margins. On T1-weighted imaging (T1WI), they typically exhibit homogeneous low signal intensity, while on T2-weighted imaging (T2WI), they show high signal intensity with increasing echo time. In addition to MRI, the diagnosis of hepatic hemangioma also requires ultrasound, angiography, CT scan, physical examination by a physician, as well as routine blood tests and coagulation function tests.
