Dr. Li Yun
Malignant thymoma generally develops in the mediastinum near the base of the heart, specifically behind the sternum, below the thoracic inlet, and anterior to the pericardium. Due to its unique location, it may adhere to or infiltrate surrounding tissues. The main symptoms include chest pain, chest tightness, cough, and discomfort in the anterior chest. It can even affect the respiratory and motor systems; in severe cases, it may endanger the patient's life.
