Can thymoma cause left shoulder pain?
Disease description:
When I recently had a medical checkup at the hospital, the doctor diagnosed me with thymoma. Lately, I've suddenly started experiencing pain in my left shoulder. Can thymoma cause left shoulder pain?
Thymoma generally does not cause left shoulder pain. When thymoma is small, it usually does not produce noticeable symptoms; however, larger tumors may compress surrounding organs. Compression of the trachea can lead to symptoms such as cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and palpitations. If the superior vena cava is compressed, patients may experience headache, dizziness, fatigue, and night sweats. It typically does not cause left shoulder pain.
