Can drinking more water after surgery for phimosis help with recovery?
Disease description:
I'm a 23-year-old male who recently had circumcision and hope to recover quickly. I'd like to ask whether drinking plenty of water after surgery for phimosis can help with recovery.
After surgery for phimosis, appropriately increasing fluid intake can aid recovery. Increased fluid intake leads to higher urine output, and frequent urination helps flush the urethra, preventing infection in the urethra and at the circumcision site, thus promoting healing. When urinating, gently pull the penile skin upward toward the base of the penis to prevent urine from contaminating the surgical wound. If the dressing becomes soiled with urine, promptly replace it with a sterile one to keep the area dry and prevent bacterial growth, which supports proper wound healing.
