Yellowish skin may be a sign of anemia. Most patients with anemia experience this yellowing symptom, which is generally classified into hemolytic and non-hemolytic anemia. In patients with hemolytic anemia, red blood cells are destroyed, leading to elevated bilirubin levels and resulting in jaundice, which easily causes yellowing of the skin. In non-hemolytic anemia, as the severity of anemia increases, the skin may appear pale and take on a yellowish tint.
