Nausea, vomiting, and dizziness often occur simultaneously, as dizziness is frequently accompanied by autonomic nervous reactions, and nausea or dry heaving easily develops when the gastrointestinal tract is involved. In most cases, dizziness is true vertigo. Patients may complain of dizziness associated with visual rotation, a sensation that the bed is overturning when eyes are closed, or a feeling of falling when standing. This condition belongs to peripheral vestibular vertigo. Central vertigo occasionally involves visual rotation, but this is relatively rare. It is recommended to perform head CT or MRI to rule out organic diseases.
