Do you need to fast and hold urine for a 4D color ultrasound?
Disease description:
Tomorrow I have a 4D ultrasound appointment, but I'm not sure whether I need to fast or hold my urine. Should I fast and hold my urine for a 4D ultrasound?
Whether fasting and holding urine are required for a four-dimensional color ultrasound depends on the situation. For abdominal organ ultrasounds, fasting is generally necessary. Examinations of organs such as the liver, spleen, gallbladder, and pancreas should be performed after an 8-hour fast to avoid interference and ensure accurate assessment of abdominal organs. For urological or gynecological examinations, patients need to have a full bladder. Routine transabdominal ultrasound before 11 weeks of pregnancy requires a full bladder. However, after 11 weeks of pregnancy, pregnant women can undergo ultrasound examinations without needing to hold urine.
